How is CPM MagnaCut better than other types of kitchenware steel?

Are you making other knives?

Can I customize my knife?
We do not offer customizations like engravings at the moment, however, if you have a bigger order (5+ knives) please email us at email@example.com we’d love to hear more details about what you’re thinking.
When sharpening my knife should I use oil as well?
Reducing friction and keeping your blade greased up while sharpening is always recommended.
How big is your Chef’s Knife?
Our Serne Chef’s Knife weighs 8.2oz, which is uniquely light and well balanced. The 7.75” blade falls within the traditional length windows.
Is this knife single or double beveled?
The Serene Chef’s Knife features a classic Japanese chisel edge at 17°. This allows for optimal edge retention and ease of sharpening.
How often should I sharpen my knife?
We do NOT recommend frequent sharpening as this will prematurely shorten the lifespan of your knife. It is highly recommended that the knife be stropped once a month with a fine or super fine diamond stropping compound and a leather strop. This will maintain a great edge for years.
Is there a specific sharpener that you recommend?/What grit-level is best for sharpening my knife?
As a rule of thumb, always sharpen with a coarser grit first before moving to a finer one
How long will a knife stay sharp?
With proper maintenance the knife should maintain a sharp edge for months on end if not years.
How is this knife better than Japanese or German knives?
The knife takes the best aspects of both silhouettes and combines them to make this one-of-a-kind hybrid style body.
Can chipped blades or broken tips be fixed?
Be kind to your blades. Extensive and irregular abuse to the knife can not be repaired.

What are the best ways to store knives?
In general, in-drawer knife blocks, magnetic strips, or knife sheaths are all excellent storage options. Avoid tossing knives loose in a drawer to reduce dulling.
What’s the best way to keep my knives clean?
Wash your knife in warm water with a non-abrasive sponge and mild dish soap after use. Avoid high heat, harsh detergents, high water pressure (aka the dishwasher) and delays in cleaning when possible.
